Abstract
An appts. of the cyclone type for removing products floating on a liq., generally oil slicks floating on the sea, is fixed on a floatable module carried on a ship when it is not in use. The ship carries davits for putting the module on the water for operation, means of towing the module and flexible pipes connecting the module to the ship. The pipes feed energy for auxiliary pumps of the appts. and discharge the floating prods. into the ship. Each module is fitted with rudders, and a floating barrage is placed in the extension of the rear sides of the ship between the ship and the module. With this arrangement, the operation of appts. of the cyclone type is not disturbed by the movements of the ship, as it is in existing such appts. The devices follow only the localised movements of the modules.
