Abstract
PURPOSE: To convert an oil tanker, for example, into an oil recovery vessel that can attach many buoyant bodies equipped with oily water suction pumps to its broadside on the sea.
CONSTITUTION: Many buoyant bodies 5 are attached vertically movable on the sea 3 to an oil tanker's 2 side through davit type devices 4 applied to the deck. Each buoyant body 5 is equipped with an oily water suction pump 6 and absorber 9. Side thrusters 13 are also attached to the tanker 2. This system can easily convert a vessel such as an oil tanker into an oil recovery vessel that can recover a large amount of oil discharged on the sea.
Cyclone type appts. for recovering oil slicks - is fixed on floatable module carried on ship and put into water for operation undisturbed by ship's movement
