Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase addition mass for the vertical motion of a ship body then increase natural periods in vertical and pitching motions of the ship body thus prevent its tuning with the wave length, by such constitution that the submerged body of a catamaran is extensibly provided on a keel line of the ship body and constructed to have a large width.
CONSTITUTION: Twin barrel bodies 12, 12 are constituted to have a longitudinally long and narrow small area of water line and shallow draft, then a submerged body 11 situated on the center line of a ship body and extensibly formed is connected to an upper part of the ship body 13 through a strut 17. The submerged body 11 is constituted relatively large in its width; the width W of the ship body 13 is formed sufficiently large as compared to the width B of said submerged body 11. In this way the secondary moment of a water line level for ensuring restoring force of the ship body is increased. And the numeral 14 shows hydrofoils for controlling an attitude.
