Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively adjust the relationship between the center of weight and the center of buoyancy in a hull of a semi-submerged twin-hull ship comprising a pair of lower hulls, struts and a crossdeck.
CONSTITUTION: A twin-hull ship comprises a pair of laterally spaced lower hulls 3 submerged in water, struts 2 extending upward from the paired lower hulls and a crossdeck 1 connecting them at a position above water surface 9. There is formed an opening 1-b bored through the crossdeck vertically in the rear portion thereof at a position front of a portion 1-a along the rear edge of the stern. The opening 1-b locates rearward of a center line X-X of the hull at the center between a stern perpendicular line A-A and a bow perpendicular line C-C, so that the center of weight of the hull shifts foreward in compared with a hull not including the opening 1-b. Thus, it becomes possible to effectively adjust the relationship between the center of weight and the center of buoyancy of the hull.
