Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the dipping of a bow or stern part into the water due to a speed change by providing a buoyancy body at either the bow or stern part at a position projecting downward from the bottom of the ship's hull in such a way that the lower end of the buoyancy body is positioned above the designed water line.
CONSTITUTION: In the semisubmerged catamaran including the hull 3 above the water level and a pair of lower hulls 1 submerged and connected to each other by means of supports 2, at least in the vicinity of either the bow or stern part, there is provided the buyancy body 6 at a position projecting downward from the bottom of the hull in such a way that the lower end of the buyancy body is positioned above the designed water line. By this provision of the body 6, the bow or stern can be prevented from dipping into the water when the ship oscillates due to the speed change of the ship or rough sea.
