Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a ship for recovering substances floating on the sea, which is designed such that its propeller is located at the rear side in a space defined by the double-hull structure of the ship and the bottom plate while a conveyor for collecting matters floating on the sea is located at the front side of said space, whereby it is enabled to recover matters floating on the sea surface in a highly efficient manner.
CONSTITUTION: Bottom plate 2 is stretched at the bottom of double-hull portions 1 froming the ship body in the manner that it is extended between them. A propeller 6 is disposed downwards of engine room 4 at the rear side of a space defined by the bouble-hull portions 1 and bottom plate 2, whereas a netlike conveyor 7 tilting upward from the bottom plate 2 toward the stern and reaching above refuse reservoir 3 is disposed at the front side of said space, in the manner that it is extended widely between opposite double-hull portions 1. Matters floating the sea surface are screened and collected by the conveyor 7 when the propeller is rotated and sea water is drawn into said space formed by the double-hull portions 1 and bottom plate 2.
