Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove and recover oil on the surface of water continuously and automatically by the procedure in which a vertically movable inside cylinder with bellows is provided to outside cylinder, and floating oil layer on the surface of water is collected by the inside cylinder and then transferred to the outside cylinder, whereupon the inside cylinder is risen and at the same time the oil transferred to the outside cylinder is discharged by a buoyancy produced.
CONSTITUTION: The inside cylinder 1 with the float 3 of a diameter smaller ?than the outside cylinder 4 on its bottom and the bellows 5 on its side is provided in the outside cylinder 4, and the oil outlet 2 is given at the bottom of the inside cylinder 1 and also the oil outlet 7 is given at the bottom of the outside cylinder 4. The remover is held by the bracket 11 under the water having oil or scum floating on it surface by slightly lowering the position of the upper edge of the inside cylinder 1 below the water surface. The oil layer on the water surface flows down the upper edge into the inside cylinder 1, goen into the outside cylinder 4 from the outlet, and then stays at the bottom. By the buoyancy of the oil, the inside cylinder 1 is pushed up and the upper edge comes out of the oil layer, stopping the falling of the oil. On the other hand, the oil staying at the bottom of the outside cylinder 4 is sucked and discharged from the outlet 7, and after the exhaustion of oil from the bottom of the outside cylinder 4, the inside cylinder 1 goes down and the oil layer on the water surface comes in again.
