Abstract

The motor has a cylinder drum with radial cylinders in which pistons reciprocate. Rollers on the outer ends of the pistons run on a cam ring on the inside of the casing. A valve plate is held against the end face of the drum. Fluid entering and leaving through axial passages is admitted to and released from the cylinders by ports in the valve plate. Axial bores in the valve plate are cosed by a backplate and contain spring loaded pistons with throttling orifices through them. Pneumatic pressure admitted by a control valve from a compressor displaces the pistons and the valve plates.
