Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de désiliciation d'alliages de manganèse, à l'état liquide. En injectant dans l'alliage liquide du dioxyde de carbone, dont l'effet peut être complété par un gaz additionnel neutre ou oxydant, on oxyde le silicium en SiO2 . L'addition de chaux ou de dolomie favorise la scorification de la silice. La teneur en silicium peut ainsi être abaissée au moins jusqu'à 0,1 %. Application à l'obtention de ferromanganese à bas carbone et bas silicium.
