Abstract

Grapes are loaded into a press arranged above a trogh mounted on a wheeled bogey, so that all the juice can be collected in the trough whilst the residue of skins, etc. is ejected. The press is of the plate type operated by jacks. A trellise and a plate grille of blades in contact provide the passage for the juice. Two of the bogey wheels are motorised, and steering equipment is provided. It obviates need to transport more than the grape juice into the wine cellars. The press described can be taken into the vineyard between the rows, and being capable of very small turns can be drawn by a tractor.
