An agricultural side pick-up baling-machine has a horizontal crank arm 21 which drives a ram 11; a pick-up 12, a platform 13 with feeding means 14 and binding means. The crank arm 21 is mounted on a vertical crank-shaft 22 which is driven by the power input shaft 30 via crown and pinion gears 28, 29. Also connected to the crank-shaft 22 by bevel gears 34, 35 is a shaft 36 which drives the crank-shaft 15 of the feeding fingers 14 via the shaft 42. Chain drives from the crank-shaft 15 drive the pick-up 12 and the binding means (not shown).
