1,249,482. Automatic warehouses. G. J. SARVARY. 13 Feb., 1969 [20 Feb., l968], No. 49643/70. Divided out of 1,249,481. Heading B8E. A picking tower platform 16, Fig. 1, for use in the warehouse described in the Specification 1,249,481 comprises a sub-frame 33 which can be raised with respect to a main frame 34 to uncouple pallets from a train thereof, by rams 52, 53 which move cam-members 54, 55 and is provided with cross-travel units 36, 37 and driven rollers 44, 44a for moving pallets in two mutually perpendicular directions. The crosstravel units 36, 37 are traversed by motor-driven lead screws 40, 41 and the rollers 44, 44a by a motor 45. A transfer trolley, Fig. 5, for moving pallets into and out of storage positions, comprises a frame 63 on driven wheels 60, 601 which is guided by rollers 62, 621 and a rail 61 and supports a sub-frame 68 which is raised and lowered with respect to the frame 63 by rams 77, 77<SP>1</SP> and toggles 78. The sub-frame 68 has a cross-travel unit 69 driven by a screw 70 and a motor 70a disposed between rollers 71, 71<SP>1</SP>.
