Abstract

1278809 Loading containers on to vehicles APPALETTE SA 8 Dec 1969 [9 Dec 1968] 59889/69 Heading B8Q To load a container 14, Fig. 2, on to a vehicle chassis, the front of the container is engaged and raised by members 9 on movable carriages 8, relative movement between the container and rollers 12 supported by the vehicle is effected until the rollers engage the base of the container in the region of its centre of gravity, the front of the container is lowered, and the container is pulled on to the chassis. The carriages 8 are supported on slides 7 which are movable with respect to a support 6 and vice versa. The members 9 are slidably supported on bars 22, Fig. 4, attached to members 17 which are vertically slidable in carriages 8. The vehicle wheels may be replaced by crawler tracks.
