Abstract

The tray (9) of flexible plastics is used for making ice-cubes in a refrigerator. To facilitate the removal of the ice-cubes the tray (9) is inserted into a rectangular box (4) with a grid (7) on one face which matches the dividing walls of the tray. The opposite face of the box (4) has a separate inner plate (13) with a screwed stud (16) which screws into a bush (14) attached to a lever (11). When the lever (11) is rotated the plate (13) is forced downwards and distorts the separate cells (8) of the ice tray and ejects the ice-cubes. In alternative forms the plate may be moved by a lever or other mechanism.
