Abstract

The ice-cube tray allows instant dispensing, and has compartments extending from the bottom and parallel to the surrounding sides. The compartments (3) are cylindrical, with flat bottoms (4). They can be of the same height as the tray sides, so that their bottoms are flush with its edges, and they can be of metal or light alloy, while the tray itself (1) is of plastics. They can be pressed and/or glued into openings in a staggered formation in the bottom of the tray, and can be formed by spinning. The design allows rapid freezing, due to contact between the compartment bases and the freezer plate.
