Abstract

The automatic frost-protection system is for a heating system in which water circulates, and where a heater panel (7), in particular a solar heat collector, is connected to a heat exchanger via two pipes, one containing a circulating pump (8) controlled by a thermostat (12) in the heater body. An ambient pressure storage tank (15) is connected at the top to the pipe (5) on the delivery side of the pump via a solenoid valve (16) controlled by a thermostat (21) in the heater body. At the bottom, this tank is connected to the other pipe (6). When frost occurs, water from the top part of the system is collected in this tank, and returned to it automatically when the pump starts up again.
