Abstract

L'Invention a pour objet un procédé de préparation d'un diol par réaction d'un ester acétique de butanediol ou butènediol avec le méthanol. On envoie continuellement dans une première colonne de réaction-distillation I un ester acétique liquide de butanediol ou butènediol (dans le haut de la cotonne) tout en envoyant du méthanol dans le bas de la colonne pour assurer un contact gaz/liquide à contre-courant en présence d'un catalyseur acide ou basique et permettre la réaction; on retire par le bas un courant dont le diol constitue le constituant principal; on envoie en continu dans un appareil d'hydrolyse II le distillat de la colonne I contenant de l'acétate de méthyle pour mettre ce distillat en contact avec de l'eau ou de la vapeur d'eau en présence d'un catalyseur pour hydrolyser l'acétate de méthyle; on envoie le produit d'hydrolyse dans une seconde colonne de distillation III d'où on retire un courant de méthanol contenant de l'acétate de méthyle qu'on recycle dans le bas de la première colonne I. Suppression de la séparation du méthanol et économie de main-d'oeuvre.
