Abstract
The plant is used to mfr. precast reinforced concrete beams, and utilises a travelling rail guided gantry including a concrete distributor, a mould, and a tamping beam with vibrators. The distributor traverses the gantry girder to tip concrete in the mould, the latter forming two longitudinal sides of a beam of which the base is formed by the floor. The mould is positioned about a floor mounted reinforcement cage, and the tamping beam is lowered into the filled mould to effect compaction. The tamping beam spans lifting cables sited at each gantry leg, and settles onto vibration-insulating bearings when lowered.
