Abstract

The safety fastener is mainly for watch straps and consists of two pieces (1, 2) hinged (3) at one extremity which fit together when folded. The upper piece (1) has a rectangular tapered tube (5) at its free extremity. A flexible clip (12) holds one extremity of the straps and fits into the tapered tibe. There is a cylindrical shoulder (9) in the narrowest extremity of the tube and a notch (15) in the clip fits over this and holds the clip in place. The other extremity of the strap (21) is fitted to the extremity of the lower piece (2).
