Abstract

869,976. Attaching watches to the wrist. WEIGHTMAN & CO. Ltd., L. A. Oct. 28, 1959 [Nov. 28, 1958], No. 38526/58. Class 43 A watch strap, the body of which is provided near to the end to be passed round the lug of a watch case with a clip which comprises a plate member secured to the strap one end of the clip being bendable over to form a fold into which the lug may be inserted and the other end being bendable over to a position where its edge lies near to or engages the edge of the other end to prevent escape of the lug from the fold and with a pocket into which the free end of the strap may be inserted. The clip has prongs 14, 14<SP>1</SP> at one end which pass through an aperture 20 in one ply 11 of the strap and are bent over to lie adjacent recesses 16, 16<SP>1</SP> in the lug engaging end of the clip. The end of the other ply 19 of the strap is bent over the clip and a reduced part a tab 23 passes through the aperture 20 and between the plies of the strap. The clip has abutments 17 which engage the edge of the ply 18. The clip may be made of resilient material.
