Abstract

La présente invention a pour objet un joint universel homocinétique du type coulissant comportant un élément externe 1 muni d'au moins trois gorges de guidage 2 s'étendant axialement et disposées parallèlement l'une à l'autre et un élément interne 3 disposé à l'intérieur de l'élément externe et muni d'au moins trois bras 4 s'étendant radialement et faisant saillie à partir dudit élément, les bras respectifs étant en engagement, par un galet respectif 5 monté sur chaque bras de manière à pouvoir tourner et coulisser, avec les gorges de guidage 2 correspondantes. Le joint universel est caractérisé en ce que les galets 5 sont montés sur leur bras 4 de manière à pouvoir, de plus, osciller dans toutes les directions pour rester parallèles à la direction longitudinale de la gorge. L'invention est applicable à la transmission des automobiles à traction avant.
