Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de l'acide hydroxy-4, diméthoxy-3,5 benzoïque à partir de l'acide triméthoxy-3,4,5 benzoïque. On effectue la déméthylation de l'acide triméthoxy-3,4,5 benzoïque en présence d'un excès d'hydroxyde alcalin dans une quantité d'éthylène-glycol juste suffisante pour obtenir un milieu hétérogène suffisamment fluide au cours de l'opération, en distillant l'éther monométhylique de l'éthylène-glycol et l'eau formés au fur et à mesure de leur formation et l'acide hydroxy-4 diméthoxy-3,5 benzoïque résultant est séparé par acidification au moyen d'un acide fort et cristallisation. Application à la fabrication de l'acide hydroxy-4 diméthoxy-3,5 benzoïque.
