Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'une poudre magnétique se composant principalement de fer. Selon l'invention, on traite une matière première finement subdivisée choisie dans le groupe consistant en hydroxydes de fer, hydroxydes de fer contenant un composant dopant choisi parmi Co, Mn, Ni, Ti, Bi, Mo, Ag, Cr, Zn, Si, Al et leurs mélanges, oxydes de fer et oxydes de fer contenant un composant dopant choisi parmi Co Mn, Ni, Ti, Bi, Mo, Ag, Cr, Zn, Si, Al et leurs mélanges, avec une solution et/ou une suspension aqueuse d'un élément choisi dans le groupe consistant en zinc, chrome, cuivre, cobalt, nickel, manganèse et antimoine et leurs mélnges afin que le composant métallique soit appliqué à la matière première; on filtre le matériau ainsi traité pour le retirer du milieu liquide et on sèche le pain obtenu; et on réduit le pain sec dans un courant d'un gaz réducteur à une température pouvant atteindre environ 600 degrés C pour former une poudre magnétique se composant principalement de fer. L'invention s'applique notamment à l'enregistrement magnétique.
