Abstract

The miniature multipolar connector has a bayonet coupling with high electrode contact areas. The male electrode (100) consists of a series of identical rings mounted on a supporting shaft (107) and isolated from each other by insulating spacers. The shaft is keyed by a flat at its free end to ensure correct coupling orientation. The female electrode consists of identical U-shaped electrodes (200) set within a cylindrical insulator (20). The base of the socket has a sprung pin (208) and annulus against which the plug is forced to enable the bayonet coupling to be made.
