Abstract
La présente invention a pour objet des particules ferromagnétiques composées essentiellement de fer, se distinguant par une distribution étroite des grosseurs de particules et une forme aciculaire prononcée, ainsi qu'un procéde de préparation de ces particules par réduction d'oxydes de fer aciculaires au moyen d'agents réducteurs gazeux. Selon l'invention, la surface des particules renferme du bore sous forme de borate en une proportion comprise entre 0,02 et 0,6 % en poids de bore, rapportée à la teneur en métal des particules. Emploi des particules métalliques dans la fabrication de supports d'enregistrement magnétiques.
