Abstract

The travelling wave tube has a circuit providing stabilisation for the tube electron beam. This consists of a resistance bridge connected across the source (4), the tube anode being connected to an intermediate point on the bridge. The intensity sensitive element (17) consists of a resistance in the cathode (2) circuit. Anode (6) voltage control is by a single transistor circuit (21) controlled from the bridge via an output amplifier. The tube cathode is supplied by a rectified A. C heating source (7) from which is derived the zener set reference voltage.
