Abstract
PURPOSE: To obviate the drawback that the output of a smoke sensor is reduced to zero in the presence of smoke due to deterioration in the function of a portion of sensor by attaching a circuit, to which an operation confirming function is added, to the smoke sensor.
CONSTITUTION: A scattered light receiver 4 receives the light which is scattered in the presence of smoke from the light of a light emitting element 3. The reference voltage 7 of a comparator 6 is so preset that the output 9 of a smoke sensor is not generated even with the background under a normal operation but is generated when a preset of smoke prevails. If the control voltage from a control circuit 1 to a power source circuit 2 is raised in accordance with the command from the outside merely for confirmation, the quantity of the light from the light emitting element 3 is so increased that the quantities of the scattered light and the background are accordingly increaed. At the same time,the valtage 7 is interchanged to render the comparator 6 operative. When the circuit 1 is normal, a preset voltage is fed to the circuit 2, and the output of the light receiver 4 is compared through an amplifier 5 with the voltage 7 by means of the comparator 6 so that an output circuit 8 generates the output 9 in accordance with the output of the comparator 6.
