Abstract

The fireplace grate comprises two lateral bars running from front to rear, with transverse bars extending between them. The lateral and transverse bars also form air passages, the lateral passages being open at the front and connected together by those in the transverse bars. A blower is connected to the forward end of one lateral passage, delivering air rearwards through it, through the transverse bars and forwards and out via the other lateral passage. There can be ports at intervals in the transverse bars, through which air jet escape.
