Abstract
The power unit comprises a combustion engine (1), driving a generator (2) and a heat exchanger (3, 4) to utilise the waste heat from the engine. The heat exchanger (3, 4b) forms the foundation or the base frame for the complete power unit. The base frame may consist of a heat exchanger (4b) for the engine exhaust gas and an exchanger (3) for the engine cooling water arranged in a horizontal plane, the heat transfer medium for the heating circuit flowing through the exchangers in succession. The medium may flow through a further exchanger (4a) at the engine exhaust manifold after leaving the exhaust exchanger (4b). The exchanger (4b) may be integral with an exhaust silencer (5).
