Abstract

A group of storage tanks are each connected to a common supply pipe by a special coupling nut (6). The flange of the coupling nut has a slot inclined at a small angle to its end surface. A collar (11) which is formed integrally with the branch pipe (7) has a similar slot. These two slots enable the coupling nut to be fitted over the collar so that the nut can then be screwed into the fitting (4) projecting from a tank and make a joint with a sealing washer (18) under the collar face.
