Abstract

1509637 Pipe couplings ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 12 Aug 1976 [13 Aug 1975] 33507/76 Heading F2G A coupling for a fuel pipe of an injection system comprising a connection member 2 and a nozzle 8 carried thereby and having a christmas-tree profile on which the end 12 of a flexible hose 13 is fitted, the coupling also comprising a resilient sleeve 16 fitted over the connection member 2 and the nozzle 8 so as to radially compress the hose end 12 against the nozzle or to effect such compression via a connection member 2. The nozzle 8 is fitted to the member 2 by a nut 5 and the sleeve 16 has an internal bead 17 fixed in a groove 18 in the member 2. A sheet metal sleeve 14 is crimped to the nozzle 8 and the end 12 of the hose and the nozzle are surrounded by a plastics coating 20 which foams up when heated. In a modification, a metal sleeve of larger diameter to that of Fig. 1 is employed and in a further modification, the protective sleeve 16 abuts directly against the end 12 of the hose, see Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), respectively.
