Abstract

A method of injecting a liq. reactant in a very small quantity into a stream of liq. flowing a stable hydraulic regime consists of injecting the component into the axis of the flow and in the same direction, downstream of a plate placed centrally across the flow, at the centre of return currents engendered by the plate. The component is distributed over a larger area near the injection orifice, giving rapid homogenisation in the direction of flow and avoiding the risk of streaming along the wall. Problems associated with incomplete reaction in zones of low concn. and over reaction in zones of high concn., and of corrosion on the walls, are avoided.
