Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the mixing ability of a foaming agent into a resin and the back- flow phenomenon of the foaming agent, by providing a flight screw between a first kneading section for facilitating the kneading of a resin and a second kneading section for facilitating the mixing of a foaming agent into the resin. CONSTITUTION:The tapered flight screw 39 is arranged between the first kneading section 8 for facilitating the kneading of a resin and for preventing a foaming agent from flowing backward and the second kneading section 10 for facilitating the mixing of a foaming agent into the resin. As a result, the sectional area at the flight screw 39, through which the resin flows, diverges downstream to increase the volume of the resin passing there, and therefore the distribution of the extrusion pressure decreases adjacent to a foaming agent introducing port 11. Accordingly, the injection of the resin can be facilitated, and as the pressure at the kneading section 8 is high, the flow back of the foaming agent can be obviated. As the extrusion pressure of the injected foaming agent increases downstream of the screw 39, it beings to be dispersed into the resin, and since the foaming agent is dispersed uniformly into the resin when it passes the kneading section 10, after the extrusion a foamed body with fine and uniform bubbles can be obtained.
