Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the production of CO and to enable an easy reduction of NOx, by providing an air injection device which forms an air film at the whole surface of a boiler furnace outlet.
CONSTITUTION: In a boiler furnace outlet 1, a great many air pouring pipes 2 are arranged in a transverse direction of the boiler at given intervals, a great many air pouring nozzles 4, whose injection direction crosses the flowing direction of a combustion gas at right angles, being connected to each air pouring pipe 2. Air 7 being a part of combustion air 6 fed to a burner 5 is fed to each air pouring pipe 2 through a bypass pipe 8, air 9 jetted from nozzle 4 forming an air film at the whole surface of the furnace outlet 1. The combustion gas 3 in the boiler furnace is completely mixed with the air 9 when passing through the outlet 1, and as a result, CO contained in the combustion gas 3 is reduced sharply. This causes an air volume in a combustion section 11 of the burner to decrease to a theoretircaly necessary air volume or less, and thus, NOx can be reduced easily.
