Abstract

The joint in a pipeline conveying dangerous liquids fitted with a quick release connection, has at one end (3) an internal cone, while the other pipe end has an external cone to fit the pipe end. A sealing ring is mounted in a groove in the external cone. A coupling ring (7) fits with a flange behind a shoulder on the external cone. Pins (8) in the coupling ring form a bayonet connection with slots and grooves in the mating pipe end. The bayonet coupling ring is twisted, to secure it in position by means of an actuator mounted on a bracket on the mating pipe end.
