Abstract

Connector, esp. for coupling flexible pipes, uses a bush on which the end of the pipe is located, and connector head with a collar on which >=1 claw is fitted and a ramp so a sealed joint can be made between two connectors to join two pipes. The collar in the head is provided with a hole which is at 90 degrees to the ramp and large enough to permit the entry of part of the mould employed to cast the connector head. The coupling is esp. suitable for the rapid connection of hose pipes used in fire-fighting appts. The connector head and bush can be cast in one piece without the need to use any core in the mould.
