Abstract

Appts. is claimed for the delivery of yarn to a textile machine such as a circular knitter, where the yarn is coiled as a store round a belt-driven drum, where the drum mantle is composed of rods. The driven drum has a freely-rotating drum mounted alongside, with its rotary axis slightly angled to the axis of the driven drum. The windings of the yarn stores are passed round both drums. The design gives a simplified yarn store and delivery system, the angular pitch of the freely-rotating drum increasing the length of the yarn coils from the entry to the exit points so that the yarn has a constant tension applied to it.
