Abstract

The connector fitting for use with high pressure flexible hose consists of two parts. The outer part has a cylindrical body (2) with an internal buttress thread (3) extending over the middle portion. A pipe thread (6') is cut at one end and runs into an undercut (4) whilst a large diameter recess (5) is formed at the other end. The end of the flexible pipe, with its outer cover removed is pushed into the body (2) and is crushed against the sharp edges of the buttress thread (3) by the tapered shank (10) of a tubular fitting. This tubular fitting has a screwed thread (9) which screws into the thread (6) of the body (2) so that a high radial force is exerted on the end of the flexible hose to retain it in the body (2).
