Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a device for sealing a tube, which device is applied to a container for storing or a transporting tube for transporting pressure fluid, can be detachably attached to the end of the tube without particular machining, and can exactly seal the high pressure fluid within a tube.
CONSTITUTION: When using, for example, in a tube 1 of small diameter, this device for sealing the tube 1 consists of a seal body retaining member 10, a seal body 20, a seal body pressing member 30, and a clamping nut 40. In case of using this device, the seal body 20 and the pressing member 30 are attached in advance to the retaining member 10 at the seal body attaching portion 13, and the nut 40 is lightly engaged with the threaded portion 14 of the retaining member 10. The integral unit thus integrated is inserted to the end of the tube 1, and the nut 40 is turned to thereby move the member 10 outwardly of the tube 1 so as to compress the seal body 20. Thus, the seal body 20 is expanded in diameter to allow the tube 1 to be completely sealed by the seal head 11 of the retaining member 10 and the seal body 20.
