Abstract

Selon ce procédé, on coule de l'acier allié ou non allié 4 dans une lingotière 2, on charge ensuite un mélange 7 de laitiers sur cet acier et, pendant la solidification de l'acier dans la lingotière, on apporte au mélange 7 une quantité d'énergie qui correspond avantageusement à au moins 120 kWh par tonne de poids du lingot Le procédé selon l'invention est essentiellement caractérise par le refroidissement de la zone du bord supérieur A-B, A'-B' adjacente au laitier de l'acier liquide, en particulier à l'aide d'une masselotte 3 dont les parois sont refroidies.
