Abstract

Procédé d'obtention de grains métalliques arrondis de magnésium ou d'alliage de magnésium, ces grains étant recouverts d'une mince couche de boue ou de scorie. Les grains sont obtenus à partir de grains de magnésium emprisonnés dans de la boue ou scories friables et le procédé comporte : a. un premier broyage de la matrice dans un broyeur à marteaux ou à impact, b. la séparation des particules de différentes tailles par tamisage, c. l'usure douce de la boue entourant les grains, d. la séparation des grains arrondis au moyen d'une table de classement vibrante, inclinée. Le traitement préalable peut comprendre la fusion de la boue ou des scories avec un agent de flux ou émulsifiant et la solidification du mélange fondu. Les grains de magnésium ainsi obtenus conviennent pour être injectés à l'aide d'une lance dans du fer en fusion par exemple pour la désulfuration de l'acier.
