Abstract

On prépare la 2-méthyl-2-heptène-6-one en faisant réagir un acétylacétate d'alkyle sur le 2-méthyl-3-butène-2-ol à chaud et en présence d'un composé organique de l'aluminium. On fait réagir le méthylbuténol et l'ester acétylacétique entre 140 et 180 degrés C dans un rapport moléculaire allant de 0,8/1 à 2,0/1, de telle manière que la concentration d'ester acétylacétique dans le mélange réactionnel ne dépasse pas 15 % en poids pendant plus de deux heures. La 2-méthyl-2-heptène-6-one obtenue est un produit intermédiaire intéressant pour la synthèse de parfums de vitamines, notamment de la vitamine A.
