Abstract

Cette carde est prévue pour débiter une nappe de coton cardé à un débit supérieur (environ 20 fois supérieur à celui d'une carde classique). Elle comprend une goulotte 4 acheminant une couche épaisse de fibres 7 (coton) à un rouleau d'alimentation 13, lequel présente cette nappe à petite vitesse à un tambour denté A. Le choc des dents et l'accélération centrifuge éjectent une grande partie des impuretés il dans un conduit 19. En 12, la nappe portée par le tambour A est transférée à un tambour B qui tourne plus vite et nettoie les fibres par la force centrifuge en même temps qu'il les carde et les étire. Des plaques de carde 22 et 25 cardent une première face de la nappe qui est encore cardée par les dents du tambour C dans la jonction 17 puis par les plaques de carde 34 et 37 du tambour D, tandis que la face opposée est cardée par les plaques de carde 28 et 31 du tambour Cet par les dents du tambour D. Un cinquième tambour E tournant plus lentement assure la condensation et l'épaississement de la nappe de fibres tout en laissant les fibres parallélisées.
