The part which encircles the taker-in is slightly greater than the length of the fibre treated, and while the fibre is held between the upper part of the " comb-plate " and the feed-roller B it is combed bv the roller D against the lower part of the plate. Rollers such as E may be used for transferring the fibre from the taker-in to the main cylinder. The usual covers H and knives F, F<1> are provided.
