Abstract
The hazard warning beacon consists essentially of an inflatable bag (1), a gas cylinder (2) and a line (3) fitted to a ground weight (4). The bag is made from a phosphorescent material and can be made in various shapes and colours to suits is particular function. The gas container can either be a cartridge whose tube (9) is directed towards the neck (10) of the bag (1), or a cylinder (11) having two compartments. The first compartment encloses water. The second compartment contains a powdery product which realises a gas lighter than air when water is added. The two compartments are separated by a barrier which is easy to break between the fingers.
