Abstract

1413747 Inflatable lifesaving appliance C HANNAY 5 Oct 1973 [15 Feb 1973 9 May 1973 17 July 1973] 7484/73 22137/73 and 33878/73 Heading B7U An instant buoyancy life-saving aid comprises a tough, flexible, pillow-shaped polythene bag 1 capable of being folded and housed in an oblong container about the size of a packet of 20 cigarettes. A canister 4 of propellant gas is secured at 3 within the bag, the canister being fitted with an instant triggering or release mechanism 5 to release the gas. The embodiment shown has a one-way inlet valve 6 for inflating the apparatus by mouth should it be necessary and has a loop lanyard 7 for wrapping around the wrist.
