Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé pour produire du gadolinium-gallium mono-cristallin (grenat) massif et virtuellement parfait A une masse fondue de Gd2 O3 -Ga2 O 3 , on ajoute au moins un ion de métal (Ca, Mg et/ou Sr) de façon qu il y ait au total environ 15 à 100 ppm de l'ion du métal dans la masse fondue; on insère, en atmosphère inerte, une tige d'un tel grenat mono-cristallin d'amorçage dans la masse fondue et l'on soulève lentement cette tige. La matière obtenue peut notamment servir de plaquettes de substrats pour des applications en électronique.
