Abstract

The sliding vane pump suitable for discharge of pasty edible substances has a housing (10) divided into two chambers (14, 15) by a partition (13). A drive spindle (19) passes through the top of the two chambers, supported at each end (20, 21) by bearings housed in extensions (10b, 10c) by the ends of the housing. The spindle has two slots (36) through it, at right angles for the two sliding vanes (37). The top of the spindle (22) inside the chambers rests against a curved seating (24) between the inlet and outlet ports (29, 32). In cross section, the two chambers are oval. The partition (13) is removable, and secured by e.g. screws (17) through the base.
