Abstract

The switching device (10) for a pneumatically actuated double-acting cylinder (11) is suitable for the drive of swing doors. A five-way two-position valve (12) controlling the connections between the pressure-medium source (32), pressure-medium run-off (35) and two cylinder connections (16, 18) has a closing member (26) loaded by a spring (27) in the direction of an initial position (28). The closing member (26) is loaded counter to the spring (27) by the pressure in that cylinder connection (18) which is not bled in the initial position (28). The change-over of the valve (12) into the working position takes place by the build-up of a dynamic pressure in a cylinder connection (18) during the movement of the swing door, so that the switching device (10) works purely pneumatically and the swing doors can also be opened from intermediate positions.
