Abstract

The electrical resistance of the skin is explored by a probe to determine points of low resistance for acupuncture. Voltage is applied at instant of measurement to avoid automatically wastage of battery power. A measuring probe comprises a plastic body with a removable protective cap which covers a spring loaded electrode. When pressed against the skin a contact shaft makes contact with the batteries closing a circuit via a hand held electrode and applying power to measuring circuit. A printed circuit card contains a differential input amplifier with an LED output indicator to provide comparison between the resistance circuit and an adjustable potentiometer circuit.
